Virtual laboratory > Analysis of a simple nonlinear oscillating system

This demonstration stand shows a dependence of the velocity of a mass on a nonlinear spring. There are a few nonlinear equations that can be selected in "Configuration" window.

If you want to define your own non-linear spring, use "Add" button at the bottom of the program frame. To the right of the button you can set the parameters of the spring in the format [math]k x^s[/math], where [math]k[/math] is the coefficient of a nonlinear term, [math]s[/math] is the degree of nonlinearity. Each term of the equation is displayed as a button. By clicking the button you can remove a part of the equation.
