Project "bionic arm prosthesis" that was made in REC "Biomechanics and Medical Engineering" was presented in at the visiting session of the Scientific and Technical Council of St. Petersburg on the theme "Innovative care services St. Petersburg - the interaction between science, business and government" under the chairmanship of St Petersburg governor Georgy Poltavchenko.

• March, 28. At the Academic Council Rector of the SPbPU congratulated A.M. Krivtsov a honorary title «Professor of Russian Academy of Sciences» in accordance with the decree of the Presidium of Russian Academy of Sciences on 26.01.2016. Presentation of diplomas was held on March 21 at the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Eric Charkaluk is Associate Professor at Mechanical Engineering Department, École Polytechnique, Senior Researcher at French National Scientific Research Center (CNRS).

• December 10. Agreement was signed on cooperation between SPbPU and Research Institute of Children's orthopedic G.I. Turner. The meeting was attended by Head of the Department "Theoretical Mechanics" A.M. Krivtsov and deputy Head of the Department for Academic Affairs O.S. Loboda. News on SPbPU site.

• December 8. Head of the Department "Theoretical Mechanics" A.M. Krivtsov was elected Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

• November 5. There was a meeting of representatives of the Department (A.M. Krivtsov and O.O. Kovalev) with representatives of the Research Institute of Children's orthopedic G.I. Turner - Director of the Institute Alexey G. Baindurashvili and Irina A. Guseva (Researcher, Laboratory of physiological and biomechanical research methods). Meetings subject: preparation of an agreement on cooperation between SPbPU and Research Institute of Children's orthopedic G.I. Turner.

• October 15. Members of the department took part in the seminar «Fundraising: cooperation with the German Science Foundation and the organizations», which was organized SPbPU and the German Houses of Research and Innovation (DWIH). The seminar was attended by the German Academic Exchange Service (the DAAD), Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (the DFG), the Russian Science Foundation (RSF), Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR), Foundation of Helmholtz, representatives of the leading German universities partner of SPbPU. They discussed issues on the mechanisms of the work of the German funds with partners from the Russian Federation, the application procedures for competitions and Russian RSF and RFBR funds.
