О проекте
The project has been implemented since 2010 at the initiative of CEO AlpineReplay ltd. Anatoly Lokshin. The project involves AlpineReplay ltd., HORIS ltd. и [Department "Theoretical Mechanics"]] SPbSTU. The main objective of the project is creating mobile application for skiers and snowboarders, allowing to measure parameters of their movement: trajectory, speed, amount of jumps, parameters of stunts during a jump, air time, number of calories expended and much more.

Areas of research
250px|thumb|right|Object of research Within "AlpineReplay" project employees and students of Department "Theoretical Mechanics" conduct research in following areas:
- Development of the jump detection algorithm based on fuzzy logic
- Definition of the rotation of the skier in jump
- Development of gyroscope calibration algorythm using magnetic censor
- Implementation of algorithms in MATLAB
- Implementation of the algorithms in C++

Basic stunts of skiers and snowboarders
- Spin
Rotations are generally performed in increments of 180 °, depending on the nature of the obstacle. For description of snowboarder's spinning terms "frontside" and "backside" are used. "Frontside" indicates the direction of rotation: snowboarder in goofy stance rotates clockwise, and in regular stance - counterclockwise. For "backside" clockwise rotation is typical for regular stance and counterclockwise - for goofy stance. You don't need those terms for describing skiers spinning.
Term "Cab"(сaballerial) means any frontside snowboarder's rotation without performing a stance (regardless of half-turns amount).
Rotation is called "Cork" when the skier or snowboarder's rotation axis is oriented sideways of moves up or down in the air and is doesn't usually turn out to be completely inverted (although head and shoulders should fall below the board or skis).
- Flip
Flip is a rotation around horizontal axis, ie through the head. There are front flip, back flip and lincoln loop (side flip for skiers).
It is also important not only to perform tricks, but also technique of performance. So, during world competitions they rate ability to keep balance, smoothness of the stunt, and, importantly, a touchdown. For example, a significant number of points is removed for a touch of hand on landing.
It should be noted that it's not always possible to tell the difference between different types of rotation without watching a replay.
